Room 2

Put soil in tray
Put seed in

Kia ora!  We are Room two and we have been very busy in our garden.   We have been planning, sowing seeds and watching the seedlings grow taller and taller.  We had to start by finding out what we liked to eat first, so we started with a graph to show what our most favourite vegetable or fruit was.

We found out that most of Room Two like Strawberries and Oranges.  Michael and Kingston Taylor helped plant some Mandarin trees in our new orchard so our class was very happy!

We have been learning about eating vegetables and how they grow.  Did you know that when we eat peas we are eating the seeds!  That made Room Two want to plant the dried pea seed and we have been watering them everyday.

Just look at them now!

We have chosen to grow tomatoes and peas.

We have been reading about Jack and the Bean Stalk and we are going to plant some beans and Takarangi wants to grow them so they go all the way up to the sky!  Maybe we can find a hen that lays golden eggs!

(To the tune of Pop Goes the Weasle)
A giant chased the poor boy Jack
All around the castle
First Jack hid and then he slid
Right down the beanstalk!

Jack, he took the giants gold
As he went down the beanstalk
The Giant roars and Jack’s axe soared
Down came the beanstalk.

Mrs Sutton helped us on Monday and cleared our garden of lettuce which we had in our sandwiches and silverbeet, which we took home for all of our tea!  Thank for your help Mrs Sutton!

Watch this space to see how Room Two will be using the floweres and Lavendar to make presents for our Whanau!
